What a stop offers
- Straight answers to your questions, with no pressure and nothing you have to buy.
- Veteran service organizations at their own tables. For accredited benefits and claims help, the county and state service officers are in our resources directory.
- Mental health, wellness and community organizations, also at their own tables.
- Medical cannabis, for those who want it: education on what Florida’s program is and whether it may be right for you, and step-by-step help through the process.
- Approved veterans and first responders can see a physician at no cost, and we pay their Florida state fee for a first card. Approved family and friends can see a physician at no cost during the tour; their state fee is not covered. You apply first, and we pay only after you are approved.
The organizations at the tables change from stop to stop. A physician makes every medical determination. Read what a stop looks like, hour by hour, or the questions we’re asked most.

One sign-up covers the whole tour. Tell us which stop you’re coming to and we’ll have someone ready for you. Both forms open on Google Forms, away from this site.

Before you come
- Bring: a valid Florida ID, and your DD-214 or first responder ID if you have it handy. Don’t have it? Come anyway. We’ll show you how to get a copy.
- How long: plan on about an hour, longer if you see the physician.
- Cost: nothing to walk in the door.
- Bring someone: if you know a veteran or first responder who wouldn’t walk in alone, bring them.
Bring the tour to your post
If you lead a VFW post, an American Legion post, or a veteran organization and you want a stop at your hall, here’s what a stop asks of a post and what we bring. Then email admin@thegratefulveteran.org with your post name, your city, and the dates that work.
